Topics covered are: characteristics of the U.S. health system, the role of healthcare professionals, medical technology, healthcare financing sources, healthcare delivery structures (including outpatient and primary care), inpatient facilities, managed care and integrated organizations, long-term care, services for special populations, and system outcomes such as healthcare cost, access, and quality.
