NUC-412 Radiation Biophysics
Radiation Biophysics is designed to give students an
overview of radiation interactions with living systems. It
progresses from an explanation of physical interactions to
the biological effects of these interactions. Finally, it deals
with the late effects of ionization radiation.
Advisory: It is advisable to have National Registry of Radiation Protection
Technologists (NRRPT) Certification or courses in nuclear physics and
radiation biology and a working knowledge of calculus, physics, chemistry,
and biology. It is strongly recommended that students do not take any of the
Nuclear Engineering Technology and Radiation Protection area of study
courses unless their math skills, up to and including derivatives and integrals,
are current. Students are responsible for making sure that they have the
necessary knowledge.
