MBA in Healthcare Management

Area of Study Overview

Return to the School of Business and Management Homepage

The American healthcare system is evolving and rebuilding itself to meet America's 21st century healthcare needs. Over the past 25 years, waves of federal healthcare legislation, insurance company reforms, and health provider restructurings have transformed American healthcare delivery into a structurally complex and financially challenging construct to manage.

To simplify the complexities and reduce cost of delivering healthcare in this millennium, the nation’s healthcare institutions will need trained business managers with expertise in healthcare management. They will need managers who have earned an advanced degree in business and healthcare management.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects 16 percent job growth for healthcare managers from 2020 to 2030, which is faster than the average for all occupations.

The School of Business and Management offers an MBA degree with an area of study in Healthcare Management that hones students' critical analysis and business management skills enabling them to quickly understand market trends, regulatory changes and financial systems in order to manage effective healthcare management and delivery.
