TES-1140 The Effects of Sugar on the Mind and Body

Sugar is an essential and pervasive, yet widely misunderstood, nutrient. This course will help students make sense of sugars and other carbohydrates, from understanding how they are produced and classified to spotting their hidden sources in everyday foods. Students will explore how the human body processes these nutrients and their role in overall well-being. By the end of the course, students will grasp how processed sugars and alternative sweeteners can influence brain function, metabolism, and even contribute to chronic diseases, empowering people to take control of their diet.
