Thomas Edison State University Transcripts

All credits evaluated by the University will appear on the transcript. No courses/grades can be removed from the record once sent to Thomas Edison State University for evaluation.

Transcripts are provided to students who are enrolled students, graduates or were a previously enrolled student. Applicants are not entitled to a Thomas Edison State University transcript, except for courses they have taken with the University as a visiting student. The Thomas Edison State University transcript format is the same whether the transcript is created for a degree seeking or visiting (Individual Learning Account) student. We will record credit in accordance with the policy below. A GPA is printed on the transcript only if graded courses were taken at Thomas Edison State University. Dates of credits/courses are printed only for Thomas Edison State University institutional credits.

Thomas Edison State University Institutional Credit - Thomas Edison State University awards credit as semester hours. The transcript contains the course number and title, number of credits earned, grade where applicable and date of completion. Course levels (lower, upper, graduate and doctoral) correlate with the difficulty of the course. 1000-2999 lower division (undergraduate), 3000-4999 upper division (undergraduate), and 5000-9999 graduate and doctoral courses.

Thomas Edison State University Assessment Credit - The University awards credit for licenses/certificates, special assessments, CLEP®, ACT/PEP, DSST®, USAFI, Excelsior College Exams, Advanced Placement Programs, New York University Language Proficiency Exams, and credit recommendations from ACE/NCCRS. The transcript contains the source of the recommendation, the TESU equivalent course number and title and the credits awarded. Assessment credit is graded as CR and does not impact the Thomas Edison State University GPA.

Transfer Credit - Credits earned at any institutionally accredited college or university, approved under the TESU Transfer Credit Policy and Guidelines, are accepted in direct transfer and are identified on the transcript by the sending institution's course number, course title, and credit earned. All coursework appears on the Thomas Edison State University transcript as semester hours. We only record courses for which students earned credit. Transfer courses in which students received grades of D-, F, U, W, I, or any other symbol indicating no credit are not recorded. At the graduate level, we only accept transferred courses with a B or better. Credits transferred from foreign institution are listed under TESU-Foreign with equivalent course number and title and the credits awarded. No transfer credit is calculated into the Thomas Edison State University GPA.
