BS in Radiation Therapy

Area of Study Overview

The Bachelor of Science BS degree with an area of study in Radiation Therapy is limited to licensed, registered radiation therapy technicians. The program enables mid-career adults in a wide range of applied fields meet their educational and professional needs while completing a baccalaureate degree. A total of 18 Area of Study credits must be from 300/400 level courses. The degree is a 120-credit program.

Notes

  • Certification: ARRT RTT or NJ LRT copy of original certificate and current renewal card
  • Required Courses: Nuclear Physics for Technology, Radiation
  • Oncology, Technical Oncology, Radiation Biology, Clinical Practice, Oncogenic Pathology, Quality Management, and Current Trends and Applications
  • How Students Earn Credit in the Area of Study: The certification covers almost all of the credits required in the area of study. A second certification nuclear medicine, radiography, or radiation protection would complete the area of study.
  • A total of 18 area of study credits must be from courses at the 300 level or above.

Courses listed in the area of study are offered as a guide. Other courses may also be considered appropriate for the program. The inclusion of similar courses must be reviewed by the evaluation team. Students must submit their program plan for review to ensure that course selection is appropriate for the degree.
